Configure Power BI for Dynamics 365 for Operations

Step-1. Go To https://dev.powerbi.com/apps

Step-2. Login with Existing Account or Create New Account

Step-3. Now Fill the below fields

App Name

Write the application Name

App Type

There are two type of application available server side and Native.. in this blog we are using server side application

Redirect URL

Enter your D365 Page URL for example purpose we are using demo URL

https://usnconeboxax1aos.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com/oauth

Home Page URL

https://usnconeboxax1aos.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com/

Step-4. Choose The API access as per your requirement. for demo purpose i have clicked on ALL check boxes.

Step-4 Register Your App

Once you set everything click on register button. By clicking on register button Team PowerBI will register your Application. After registration Your client ID and secret (for web apps only) will appear below. Be sure to copy the values into your app.

Save the client ID and client secret key they will not appear after refresh of the page

Step-5 Open D365FO and Go to System Administration -> Setup -> Power BI

Click Edit Button and enable the Power BI configuration

Under Client ID, paste the Client ID you Saved during app registration

Under Application key, paste the Client Secret Saved during app registration

Step-6 Go To any work space in this demo we are using Cost Administration

Step-7 Click on the “Get started” button and Authorize access to Power BI. Now you can select reports and dashboards from Power BI
